About the role:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance processes for DC Arc reactor operations. This role ensures that all products meet quality standards and specifications while adhering to regulatory and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement & monitor quality assurance protocols for DC arc furnace.
- Monitor process parameters and evaluate product quality against established standards.
- Ensure & record chemical, physical, and metallurgical testing is done on raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished products.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and production processes to ensure adherence to quality specifications.
- Utilize different techniques and other relevant techniques to assess product integrity.
- Oversee calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
- Record production & quality data to identify trends, deviations, and opportunities for process optimization.
- Work with production team to address quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions .
- Propose process adjustments to improve product consistency and reduce defects.
- Maintain detailed records of quality inspections, test results, and process audits.
- Prepare quality reports and documentation required for certifications and compliance audits.
- Maintain material certificates, quality records, and traceability documentation for all production batches.
- Ensure compliance with international quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) , AS9100D and industry-specific regulations.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to quality.
- Stay updated on advancements in quality assurance practices and industry standards.
- Help production teams on quality requirements, inspection techniques, and proper documentation practices.
- Foster a culture of quality awareness across all levels of production staff.
- Investigate quality non-conformances using root cause analysis tools
- Implement corrective and preventive measures to minimize future occurrences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality challenges effectively.
- Check & Evaluate raw material suppliers to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Conduct incoming material inspections and audits to verify conformance to specifications.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of arc furnace technology.
- Proficiency in quality assurance tools and statistical analysis
- Knowledge of metallurgical testing techniques and standards.
- Familiarity with international quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100
- Problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
