Position Overview:
The Manager of New Product Development will lead the ideation, formulation, and launch of innovative nutraceutical and Ayurvedic supplement products. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting market research, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving the product development process from concept to commercialization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development:
- Conceptualize and develop new nutraceutical and Ayurvedic products aligned with market trends and consumer demands.
- Create formulations using scientifically validated ingredients and Ayurvedic principles.
- Work with R&D to optimize product efficacy, stability, and safety.
- Market Research:
- Analyze market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive products to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to understand customer feedback and integrate insights into product design.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all products meet regulatory guidelines (FSSAI, AYUSH, FDA, etc.) for nutraceuticals and Ayurvedic supplements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global regulatory requirements and documentation.
- Project Management:
- Oversee the product development lifecycle, including ingredient sourcing, trials, and production.
- Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to meet timelines and budgets.
- Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with QA teams to develop and implement product testing protocols.
- Ensure products adhere to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficacy.
- Supplier and Vendor Management:
- Identify and engage with ingredient suppliers and manufacturers for sourcing high-quality materials.
- Evaluate vendor capabilities and negotiate cost-effective solutions.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare technical documentation, product dossiers, and specifications for internal and external use.
- Generate periodic reports on project status, timelines, and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Food Science, Ayurveda, or related fields.
- Additional certifications in nutraceuticals, Ayurveda, or project management are a plus.
- Experience:
- 3–7 years of experience in product development, preferably in the nutraceutical, Ayurvedic, or functional food industry.
- Proven track record of launching successful products in relevant categories.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of nutraceuticals, functional ingredients, and Ayurvedic formulations.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (FSSAI, AYUSH, etc.).
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and product lifecycle management tools.
