Job Title
: Electrical Engineer Location : VISA Special Steel Limited, Jajpur, Odisha (Plant Location) Department : Blast Furnace, Electrical Reports to : Electrical In-charge
Key Responsibilities
: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems related to blast furnace operations. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in electrical circuits, control systems, and instrumentation. Ensure regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and upgrades of electrical equipment to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. Perform regular inspections, testing, and servicing of electrical equipment to detect potential failures and maintain optimal performance. Collaborate with other engineering teams to enhance blast furnace performance and reliability. Respond to emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules. Continuously monitor and assess equipment performance, recommending changes to maintenance schedules as needed. Maintain documentation of electrical systems, modifications, and maintenance schedules. Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment procurement, upgrades, and repairs. Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and propose corrective actions. Train and guide junior engineers and technicians on electrical systems and maintenance best practices.
Qualifications
: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance and control systems, specifically in blast furnace operations. In-depth knowledge of power distribution, motor controls, and electrical schematics. Experience with high-voltage equipment and safety protocols. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities.
